As you may be aware, Roberts pupils get the opportunity to go on a 2-night residential trip to the Pioneer Centre. The Pioneer Centre is the leading residential activity centre provider that offers a rewarding educational programme combined with exciting outdoor and indoor activities together with secure and controlled residential accommodation.

We are organising a 2-night residential course at their centre in Cleobury Mortimer during April 2022. Residential courses organised by the school are an optional but invaluable part of the school’s curriculum. This trip is not compulsory. Pupils benefit enormously from the experience, both educationally and socially, and we feel certain that the course we have chosen this year will prove to be both enjoyable and very worthwhile. We would like to offer this opportunity to Year 5 pupils. This trip will provisionally take place from Monday 4th April to Wednesday 6th April 2022. The cost of the visit is £210 per pupil. This can be paid in small instalments set out in the table below. This includes return travel by coach, full board accommodation and a full programme of activities. The school or Pioneer will not be able to provide insurance cover for cancellations due to COVID-19. This is unfortunate but I am sure those who have tried to book a recent holiday have found a similar position from insurance companies. Pioneer have been accommodating with the visits we had planned but which had to be cancelled due to lockdown restrictions - they have rearranged this visit twice for us and I am sure they would do the same again if the visit was prevented by national restrictions. However, school cannot guarantee this and wanted you to be informed before making your decision.

To register your interest in the visit, please send in the reply sheet attached to the letter you will be receiving  and then the first payment is due on 13th September. This payment is a non-refundable deposit of £70. The other instalment dates are listed below:

1^st instalment/non-refundable deposit: £70 (Thursday 16th September 2021)

2^nd instalment: £70 (Thursday 2nd December 2021)

3^rd instalment: £70 (Thursday 10^th February 2022)
