Year 5 Native American Workshop

Year 5 enjoyed a visit from Georgina Varney who led a workshop covering Native Americans.  The children learnt the struggle that the different tribes faced when they were displaced from their homeland.  A discussion took place to try and imagine the struggle this would have caused and the feelings associated with it.

The class got to see an authentic Native American headdress adorned with feathers and intricate beadwork.  The children designed their own headband using images associated with Native Americans.
